The Fillets and Steaks Barbecue Box is for fish lovers who wish to exercise their culinary skills under open skies, cooking exceptional fresh fish on the barbecue or grill for family and friends. While many filleted fish are too delicate for barbecuing, the contents of the box have been selected for their versatility and ability to withstand the heat of a typical barbecue or charcoal grill.

The fish portions are vacuum packed in pairs, so if you feel you’ve got too many for your barbecue you can freeze any surplus and defrost them as and when you require them.

Storage

The fillets and steaks are best eaten as fresh as possible. Keep refrigerated between 0˚C and 5˚C and consume within three days of delivery. If freezing, do so on the day of delivery and consume within two months. We recommend defrosting overnight in the fridge.

How We Package Your Fish and Seafood

1. We vacuum pack fish portions in pairs and whole fish individually. We vacuum pack scallops in quantities of 500g. Oysters and lobsters are placed in a box. 
2. Each portion is then clearly labelled with the species, who packed it, the date it was packed and a fresh use-by date.
3. We add frozen chill packs, which contain non-toxic gel, to a polystyrene box.
4. We pack your order so the chill packs distribute the cold evenly throughout your fish and seafood, ensuring maximum freshness.
5. We seal the box with packing tape and hand it to our courier, who will deliver it to you within 24 hours.

Is there a minimum order value?

No.

How much does delivery cost?

From Wednesday to Friday, delivery for orders under £40 costs £4.95. Orders over £40 qualify for free delivery.

On a Saturday, delivery for orders under £100 costs £9.99. Orders over £100 qualify for free delivery.

Which courier do you use and where do you deliver to?

We work with APC Direct and deliver anywhere on the UK mainland where 24-hour delivery is available.

When do you deliver?

Our delivery days are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Due to the nature of the fresh fish supply chain and to ensure you receive the freshest possible fish and seafood at an affordable price, we do not deliver on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.

Where do you source your fish from?

Each product page clearly says where it comes from. We deal with a range of suppliers, including fish markets in north-east Scotland and reputable aquaculture businesses on the north-west coast of Scotland and in East Lothian. Freshness and quality mean everything to us and we only engage with partners who share our values.

Can you advise on the amount of fish to buy for a special occasion?

Christmas and New Year Orders

Our final Christmas deliveries will take place on Thursday 23 December.

The latest you can place an order for delivery before we close for Christmas and New Year is 10am on Tuesday 21 December.

We have a limited number of delivery slots so please book early to avoid disappointment.

After the Christmas break we will restart deliveries on Wednesday 12 January.

Covid-19: Update

As lockdown restrictions have eased, we have seen business become more settled, though in no way returning to its pre-Covid state.

While rates of Covid-19 transmission in the general population remain high there is a real possibility of sudden disruption to both the supply chain and the capacity of our courier partners to ensure timely delivery of customer orders.

Please do not contact us unless your delivery is more than 24 hours late.

Our packaging is designed to preserve the freshness of your order for longer than is normally required. Unless your delivery is significantly delayed we are confident your order will arrive in exceptional condition.
