Description

Golden breadcrumbs add a crunchy coating and a splash of colour to fried and baked fish.

Whether you’re making fish fingers or recreating the takeaway experience at home, golden breadcrumbs are ideal.

Coat your fish with beaten egg before covering it with the breadcrumbs, then either fry – in the pan, an airfryer or a deep-fat fryer – or bake your fish. You can also use the breadcrumbs to add a colourful and crunchy topping to fish pie and fish pasta dishes.

Versatile, inexpensive and easy to store, the breadcrumbs are made from baked white bread which is then flaked and broken down to give a fine texture that absorbs less oil than normal breadcrumbs. Turmeric adds a subtle flavour and paprika gives the breadcrumbs their attractive and natural colour.

Please note: golden breadcrumbs contain gluten.

Ingredients

Wheat flour (calcium carbonate, iron, niacin, thiamin), water, salt (contains E535 anti-caking agent), yeast, turmeric extract. Colour: paprika (E160c) (allergens in bold)

Storage

Once opened, keep golden breadcrumbs in an airtight container and use within two weeks. Do not refrigerate.

How We Package Your Fish and Seafood

1. We vacuum pack fish portions in pairs and whole fish individually. Scallops are also vacuum packed, while oysters and lobsters are placed in a box. 
2. Each portion is then clearly labelled with the species, who packed it, the date it was packed and a fresh use-by date.
3. We add frozen chill packs, which contain non-toxic gel, to a polystyrene box.
4. We pack your order so the chill packs distribute the cold evenly throughout your fish and seafood, ensuring maximum freshness.
5. We seal the box with packing tape and hand it to our courier, who will deliver it to you within 24 hours.

We work with APC Direct and deliver anywhere on the UK mainland where 24-hour delivery is available.

Our delivery days are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Due to the nature of the fresh fish supply chain and to ensure you receive the freshest possible fish and seafood at an affordable price, we do not deliver on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.

Each product page clearly says where it comes from. We deal with a range of suppliers, including fish markets in north-east Scotland and reputable aquaculture businesses on the north-west coast of Scotland and in East Lothian. Freshness and quality mean everything to us and we only engage with partners who share our values.
