Description

A side of salmon is a superb choice for a dinner party – simply bake in tinfoil and carve at the dinner table, tailoring the portion size to your guests’ individual preferences. The flesh yields a silky texture, bold flavours and an array of nutritional benefits.

Rich in B vitamins, minerals and omega-3 fatty acids, salmon used to be the preserve of the wealthy, but thanks to the rise of aquaculture everyone can now enjoy this extraordinary fish all year round.

Sides of salmon are growing in popularity.

As with all quality fish, don’t overthink cooking a side of salmon. Butter a sheet of tinfoil large enough to cover the fish, add dill and seasoning, place the fish on top and drizzle with white wine and lemon juice. Firmly seal the foil parcel, place it in a baking tray and cook in a preheated oven at 180C/160C fan/gas mark 4 for 20-25 minutes depending on the size of the salmon. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving with seasonal vegetables.

Storage

Sides of salmon are best eaten as fresh as possible. Keep refrigerated between 0˚C and 5˚C and consume within three days of delivery. If freezing, do so on the day of delivery and consume within two months. We recommend defrosting overnight in the fridge, placing the salmon in a colander over a bowl.

How We Package Your Fish and Seafood

1. We vacuum pack fish portions in pairs and whole fish individually. Scallops are also vacuum packed, while oysters and lobsters are placed in a box. 
2. Each portion is then clearly labelled with the species, who packed it, the date it was packed and a fresh use-by date.
3. We add frozen chill packs, which contain non-toxic gel, to a polystyrene box.
4. We pack your order so the chill packs distribute the cold evenly throughout your fish and seafood, ensuring maximum freshness.
5. We seal the box with packing tape and hand it to our courier, who will deliver it to you within 24 hours.

From Wednesday to Friday, delivery for orders under £40 costs £4.95. Orders over £40 qualify for free delivery.

On a Saturday, delivery for orders under £100 costs £9.99. Orders over £100 qualify for free delivery.

We work with APC Direct and deliver anywhere on the UK mainland where 24-hour delivery is available.

Our delivery days are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Due to the nature of the fresh fish supply chain and to ensure you receive the freshest possible fish and seafood at an affordable price, we do not deliver on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.

We deal with a range of suppliers, including fish markets in north-east Scotland and reputable aquaculture businesses on the north-west coast of Scotland and in East Lothian. Freshness and quality mean everything to us and we only engage with partners who share our values.
