Description

Our sea bream fillets are taken from the best specimens on the market and have sweet, firm flesh that pairs beautifully with an array of ingredients.

Sea bream is a white fish that can be cooked the same way as its wild cousin black bream, being well suited to grilling, baking, frying and poaching. It can also be prepared as a tartare.

Although growing in popularity, sea bream remains comparatively inexpensive and is, therefore, a great fish to experiment with. Its delicate flavour goes well with fennel, sorrel, lemon juice, thyme, parsley, tarragon, English mustard, asparagus, olives, tomatoes, almonds and garden peas. If you grow your own veg then use sea bream fillets as the centrepiece of a dish that celebrates the flavours of the season.

Storage

Sea bream fillets are best eaten as fresh as possible. Keep refrigerated between 0˚C and 5˚C and consume within three days of delivery. If freezing, do so on the day of delivery and consume within two months. We recommend defrosting overnight in the fridge.

How We Package Your Fish

1. First we vacuum pack individual fish portions (if the fillets are small then we will pack them in pairs).
2. Each portion is then weighed and clearly labelled.
3. We add frozen chill packs, which contain non-toxic gel, to a polystyrene box.
4. We pack your order so the chill packs distribute the cold evenly throughout your fish and seafood, ensuring maximum freshness.
5. We seal the box with packing tape and hand it to our courier, who will deliver it to you within 24 hours (or 48 hours if you live in the Scottish Highlands).

What is the minimum order?

There is no minimum order.

How much is the delivery charge?

From Wednesday to Friday, delivery for orders under £60 costs £4.95. Orders over £60 qualify for free delivery.

On a Saturday, delivery for orders under £100 costs £9.99. Orders over £100 qualify for free delivery.

Which courier do you use & where do you deliver to?

We work with DPD and we deliver anywhere on the UK mainland.

When do you deliver?

Our delivery days are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Due to the nature of the fresh fish supply chain and to ensure you receive the freshest possible fish and seafood at an affordable price, we do not deliver from Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.

Where do you source your fish from?

Each product page clearly says where it comes from. We deal with a range of suppliers, including fish markets in north-east Scotland and reputable aquaculture businesses on the north-west coast of Scotland and in East Lothian. Freshness and quality mean everything to us and we only engage with partners who share our values.

Can you advise on the amount of fish to buy for a special occasion?
