Description

Our exceptional salmon tail fillets are cut from beyond the backbone, giving a luxurious piece of flesh packed with deep flavours, a silky texture and an array of nutritional benefits. 

Salmon used to be the preserve of the wealthy but thanks to the rise of aquaculture everyone can now enjoy this extraordinary fish all year round.

Whether pan-fried until the skin crisps, poached then chilled and served with mayonnaise on a summer’s day, or baked in a foil parcel with a few herbs and lemon juice, salmon tail fillets reward minimal input from the home cook with taste, texture and a generous dose of vitamins, minerals and omega-3 fatty acids.

Salmon tail fillets are so versatile there isn’t enough room here to give an exhaustive list of their uses, but a few worth highlighting are pâtés, fish cakes, croquettes and burgers. They’re also a vital ingredient of any fish pie worth its salt.

Our salmon are farmed in fisheries in the north and north-west of Scotland.

Storage

Salmon tail fillets are best eaten as fresh as possible. Keep refrigerated between 0˚C and 5˚C and consume within three days of delivery. If freezing, do so on the day of delivery and consume within two months. We recommend defrosting overnight in the fridge.

How We Package Your Fish and Seafood

1. We vacuum pack fish portions in pairs and whole fish individually. Scallops are also vacuum packed, while oysters and lobsters are placed in a box. 
2. Each portion is then clearly labelled with the species, who packed it, the date it was packed and a fresh use-by date.
3. We add frozen chill packs, which contain non-toxic gel, to a polystyrene box.
4. We pack your order so the chill packs distribute the cold evenly throughout your fish and seafood, ensuring maximum freshness.
5. We seal the box with packing tape and hand it to our courier, who will deliver it to you within 24 hours.

Safety Warning

Care has been taken to remove the bones from this fish, although some may still remain.

From Wednesday to Friday, delivery for orders under £40 costs £4.95. Orders over £40 qualify for free delivery.

On a Saturday, delivery for orders under £100 costs £9.99. Orders over £100 qualify for free delivery.

We work with APC Direct and deliver anywhere on the UK mainland where 24-hour delivery is available.

Our delivery days are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Due to the nature of the fresh fish supply chain and to ensure you receive the freshest possible fish and seafood at an affordable price, we do not deliver on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.

Each product page clearly says where it comes from. We deal with a range of suppliers, including fish markets in north-east Scotland and reputable aquaculture businesses on the north-west coast of Scotland and in East Lothian. Freshness and quality mean everything to us and we only engage with partners who share our values.
